Wednesday 25th March 2020

Good Morning Confident Chameleons! I Hope you're enjoying yourselves at home! I've just done the Joe Wicks workout at school and it's safe to say i'm feeling very tired now! I've heard that it's been tricky to log onto education city as so many children are trying to access it at the same time - please don't worry about this and just get done what you can . Most importantly, stay safe, stay home (have fun in your gardens!) and behave for your parents who will be really busy too! I've also added some information to the top of the page 'Home Learning Stay Active' this has lots of fun ways that you can keep fit at home! Remember to send me pictures of what you've been up to, to the email you were sent last week.

Looking forward to hearing from you all, Miss Makepeace x

Home Learning wb 23.3.2020

Hello Confident Chameleons! I hope you've had a lovely restful weekend at home and are ready for the new style of learning that is coming your way! I've planned some activities for English, Maths, Science and DT for you to be getting on with this week. Please have a go at them and do the best that you can . Parents, I hope you find the timetable we have created useful but please remember it's not compulsory to follow! Have a lovely week and remember if you need anything, or if you just want to let me know how you're getting on, please contact me on the email sent to you last week. Looking forward to hearing from you all! Work hard, stay safe and enjoy your time at home! Miss Makepeace x

This week in Maths we will be continuing our unit of measure. The aim for this week is to understand what perimeter is, and to be able to find the perimeter of 2D shapes. You're quite lucky as we are almost at the end of this unit, it doesn't seem that there are many tasks to complete however please make sure your knowledge of this is secure. I've created a word document for you to follow with key information and some extra activities that you might want to complete. I have also set activities in the 'Classwork' section on Education City clearly labelled with this weeks date. There are also activities that link with this topic on Mathletics for you to complete. Please also take the time this week to complete any Mathletics activities that you've not already done. If there are any topics you found difficult that we have already covered in class, the Mathletics activities are open so you can access these at home this week too. Let's not forget about your timestable knowledge! I'm so impressed with how much you have all improved with your timestables recently, so please remember to go on TTRS so we can keep this up!

It would have been Science week this week, so our English unit is based around our Science topic of Plants. You should write an explanation text about how flowering plants grow. This will be similar to the one that we wrote about the water cycle last term! I have also included your spelling pattern for this week (try to get your parents to test you on them at the end of the week!), and remember that you can log into Spelling Shed to practise these . I have set everyone a book on Bug Club, please sign in and read this book. You will then need to write a book review about it. Please see the word document below for further information on your English work for this week as well as some extra resources to help you if needed.

Our unit in Science is Plants! We have set a variety of tasks for you to be getting on with at home. Remember to complete your work in your home learning book so we can see what you've been getting up to once were back at school! Please see the word document below to help you further with the Science activities for this week as well as the powerpoint presentation.

We thought it would be interesting to set you some fun in the kitchen for your DT work this week! As your parents are at home working hard with you, why not cook a meal for them? Use the word documnet below to help you to prepare for this!

As always, it's important that you stay fit and healthy during this time at home. Why not go out into the garden and play some games with your family? Could you teach them some of the games we play in PE at school? Joe Wicks will be hosting PE sessions and 9am each morning. What a great way to start your day whilst letting your parents get on with their work! You will find these on Youtube by searching 'The Body Coach TV'. Have fun!
