This year, there are some fantastic competitions to take part in to celebrate World Book Day! Will you be in it to win prizes for yourself and Greenside? Keep reading to find out more...

'Show Your Shares' Competition

The theme for this year's World Book Day is 'Share a Story'. Reading can happen anywhere and everywhere, from breakfast to bedtime. We would love to see you sharing a story whether that be reading at home with your family, reading in your favourite nook, reading in an unusual location, sharing a story with your pet, reading a book dressed as your favourite character, and more! To encourage positive reading habits, we are running a competition inviting all our Greenside families to take a photograph whilst sharing your book shares. Please email your entry to your child's tier-group email. Deadline for entries is Wednesday 24th March and winners from each tier group will be announced on Friday 26th March 2021.

You can also upload your shares linked to the weekly theme and send it to the World Book Day competition entry link below. Will your photo make it into the Hall of Fame and win prizes?

Design a Potato Character

Get your creative by designing your favourite book character using a potato! Veritas Education Recruitment will pick with the winning design from Greenside. This pupil will win a £10 book voucher! Winner from each school will then be entered into a grand prize draw and the pupil who wins overall, wins their school £100 book vouchers!

To enter this competition, email a photo of your potato character by Friday 12th March 2021 to your teachers using the tier-group email. The winning potato will be announced shortly after. Please see below for inspiration.
