Please find below our Newsletters for each half-term as well as our KIRF information.
Please support your child at home to learn their KIRF (Key Instant Recall Facts) Targets, these are changed half-termly and feed into our maths learning in school. It is vital that children are regularly working on their mental maths skills.
1st April 2021 - Science Week
We absolutely loved Science Week this week! We had the chance to learn about electricity and especially loved connecting the wires and batteries to bulbs and buzzers to create our own working circuits!
Friday 12th March - World Book Day
What a great day we had today celebrating World Book Day! Children and staff made such a great effort with their costumes and we enjoyed lots of book themed activities throughout the day.
We had such fun making our very own 'Where's Wally' style pictures. Can you spot him?
Monday 8th March
We were so happy to welcome back all of our Pumas today! We had such a fun day researching about, designing, making and evaluating our very own Egyptian Canopic Jars. We can't wait to paint them once they dry!
4.12.2020 D.T. Day
We had so much fun creating Spongehenge! First, we investigated why ancient Britons built henges and stone circles. Next, we discussed what we already knew about Stonehenge. Then, we designed our very own henge and what it was going to be used for. Finally, we made our Stonehenge replica out of sponge!
11.11.2020 - Remembrance Day
We celebrated Rebembrance day today at school by taking part in lots of themed activities. We learnt a poem about the war and recited this in groups whilst coming up with our own actions to go with the words too. It was exciting making up our own actions and some of us even got to perform to the rest of the class! We also created our own Rembrance day art, creating a night sky background and a silhouette of a soldier or cross.
wb 3.11.2020 Science Week
We had such a great first week back at school learning all about skeletons, muscles and nutrition. We enjoyed looking at food packaging to find out which nutrients are in different foods. We also learnt the scientific names for our bones and created our own skeletons, labelling them with the correct names. We found out how our muscles work and worked in teams to create our very own 'muscle arm'.
It was fabulous to welcome the children back into school today; they looked incredibly smart in their uniforms and they really enjoyed spending time with their friends once again. We are all so looking forward to an excting half term!
We had lots of fun making Stone Age like necklaces to kick start our Stone Age history topic!
If you are having to isolate at home but are well we have created a home-learning page to ensure you do not fall behind in your learning whilst at home.
