We enjoyed an exciting DT day planning, making and most importantly eating our very own Roti Wraps, based on Caribbean cuisine. We handmade the rotis using a mix of flour, butter and water. We then chopped, grated, squeezed and peeled our ingredients before finally tasting our products! We had a fantastic day!
SAT Revision Homework (Y6) - February Half-Term
We have sent the children home with some practise SAT resources as revision for their half-term homework. The questions and solutions are below if you would like to support your child with this or mark their work once it has been completed.
The spelling document is a breakdown of the spelling rules that have previously appeared in SAT assessments with some suggested words which use the same patterns. Feel free to look through this with your child and have a go at revising some of these previously taught rules and words between now and May.
In Spanish this half term we have been learning how to talk about our pets. The children now know a number of common pets in Spanish and are able to say what pets theu have and their names. They are also able to say which pets they do not have. Watch some of our 'Pet' presentations below.
Our Science topic this half term was learning about plants, animals and their habitats. We especially enjoyed identifying the different parts of flowering plants by dissecting real flowers! We used magnifying glasses to look closely at each part of the plant.

Please support your child at home to learn their KIRF (Key Instant Recall Facts) Targets, these are changed half-termly and feed into our maths learning in school. It is vital that children are regularly working on their mental maths skills.
