Spring - KIRF Targets

Autumn 2 Learning
DT Christmas Biscuit House Project
We have had lots of festive fun planning and building our own Christmas themed biscuit houses!
Science Week
We have enjoyed completing our Science learning this half term all about electricity. We were able to conduct experiments using different voltage batteries and we tried out different length wires to see if this made a difference. Finally, we challenged ourselves to light two bulbs with the same brightness as one and we were successful in creating parallel circuits!

Anti-Bullying Week
How fabulous do our odd socks look?

HALF TERM HOMEWORK: BLACK HISTORY MONTH
October is known in the UK as being Black History Month. It is a time to reflect upon and learn about outstanding black individuals who have changed history and influenced society. Read through the Black History month PowerPoint to find out more.

Learning Log Task:
Research our assigned individual - Matthew Henson (you could use the resource provided below as a starting point). Create a learning log about his life, achievements and contribution to society. As always, you can be as creative as you wish in how you present your findings. You may create a fact file, a movie, a piece of art, a biography, a news report...anything you decide to share their story for others to learn.
K.I.R.F. Targets
Please support your child at home to learn their KIRF (Key Instant Recall Facts) Targets, these are changed half-termly and feed into our maths learning in school. It is vital that children are regularly working on their mental maths skills. The documents below explain the KIRF Targets for Autumn 1 and suggest useful websites, which will support your child in building their knowledge and speed.
Welcome Back!
It was fabulous to welcome the children back into school today; they looked incredibly smart in their uniforms and they really enjoyed spending time with their friends once again.
