Hello Adventurous Anacondas! We hope you've had a relaxing half-term break and enjoyed the lovely weather. We're now in Summer 2, our final half-term of this year. Can you believe it? We're incredibly proud of your outstanding Home Learning efforts! With 7 weeks to go before the summer holidays, we'll be continuing with our Anglo-Saxon topic. Read on below to find out what part of Anglo-Saxon life you'll be learning about this week as well as some information on the PSHE work we've set to focus your minds on the goals you'd like to achieve this half-term.
Please continue to keep in touch via email, we love hearing from you all and seeing all the exciting learning you've been doing at home. We're back to working in school full-time from this week, so please don't be worried if we don't answer emails as quickly, we will be in touch as soon as we can!
Work hard, stay safe and most importantly have fun! Mr Khan, Miss Brooks and Miss Brown
This week’s writing task is linked to the most famous of all Anglo-Saxon stories: Beowulf. We know so many of you enjoyed the writing task from last half-term and thought it would be great to continue with the story. As such, we would like you to write a character description of any one of the main characters from the story: Beowulf, Grendel or Grendel’s mother. As well as this, we would like you to log on to Spelling Shed to practise this week's spellings, read a book on Bug Club and as always, remember to read your favourite stories at home too!

This week you will be learning more about the Anglo-Saxon kings! As you found out from your previous research, the Anglo-Saxons had seven kingdoms and those kingdoms needed rulers. Using the information provided in the documents below, and from your own research, you will find out about who the Anglo-Saxon Kings were, how they lived and how they influenced Britain. There is a reading comprehension for you to complete, an information leaflet for you to create and a royal portrait of your favourite king for you to design, once you've found out lots of new and interesting information about these historical rulers.
As this week of home learning begins a new half-term, we would like you to reflect on your incredible learning at home so far, how well you've used your superhero Learning Powers and decide upon 3 or 4 new targets or goals for your final half-term in Year 3/4. This week's activities will teach you what a SMART Target is and give you the opportunity to come up with your own targets and goals for both your home learning and for new hobbies and skills you've taken up or been practising whilst you've been at home. We'd love to see what you're aiming to achieve this half-term and how you present your new goals to put up on the wall next to your home learning area!
