WB 20.04.20 Week 3

Home Learning - Week Beginning 20.04.2020

Welcome back Anacondas! We hope you had a lovely Easter break and enjoyed the lovely weather whilst spending time with your families. It's now the Summer Term and a new week of Home Learning. We have planned Maths, English, RE, Topic and PE for this week. As always, we're proud of how well you've adapted to this new way of learning so keep up the hard work! Read on to find out what you will be getting up to this week. Mr Khan, Miss Brooks and Miss Brown

English

Did you see the inspirational war veteran Captain Tom Moore walking laps of his garden to raise money for the NHS? What a great achievement! As it's so current and topical, this week we would like you to write a newspaper article based on this incredible news story. Please see the document below for extra information about the different tasks involved in your English this week. We have also included some extra challenge activities that you may wish to complete about Captain Tom Moore. In the document below, you will also find details about this week's Spelling Shed and Bug Club activities. As always, please continue to read your favourite books at home too!

Maths

In Maths, Year 3 will continue learning about fractions whilst Year 4 will continue their unit on decimals. There are 5 lessons with teaching videos, activity sheets and answers on the White Rose Hub website. Once you have completed all 5 lessons, we have assigned activities on Mathletics to consolidate your learning. Please complete this so we know how you are progressing at home. Don't forget to practise your times tables on TTRS too!

RE

In RE last half-term, we learnt about Sikhism. This week, we would like you to expand your knowledge of different religions (Islam, Buddhism, Christianity, Judaism and Sikhism) by completing a research activity. Take a look at the document below for more information and try to be creative by presenting your research in an interesting way!

Topic - DT & Music

Hopefully you'll find this week's topic activity really fun! Still part of the rainforest topic, but pulling it to an exciting end, we would like you to design and make your very own rain stick to make the sounds of the rainforest. Read the document below which will take you through a researching, designing, making and evaluating process. When you have completed your rain stick, you can use it to play along to some of the songs included below. We would love to receive some photos of your finished product or even a short video of you playing it!

You may want to play your rain stick along to some rainforest songs. Below are a few examples of songs you may wish to use.

PE

Remember Joe Wicks is live at 9am every morning on his Youtube channel and if you're after extra inspiration, we've added a PE Challenge for you to try!
