WB 22.06.20 Week 11

Home Learning - Week Beginning 22.06.2020

Hello Anacondas! Welcome to Week 11 of Home Learning! This week, we're continuing with our Anglo-Saxons topic and learning about Anglo-Saxon diets - our favourite subject (food and drink!) Thank you to everyone who emailed in again last week, it was great to see so many of you. We were especially impressed with the imaginative Anglo-Saxon villages, Stonehenge replicas and stained glass windows - beautiful! Have a lovely week, enjoy your learning and continue to be fantastic! Mr Khan, Ms Brooks and Miss Brown

English

This week's writing task is linked to our topic learning. In History and DT this week, you'll be learning about Anglo-Saxon diets. Linked to this, we would like you to write a set of instructions on how to make bread (Anglo-Saxon or modern-day equivalent). Once you've made (and eaten) your bread, have a go at writing a set of instructions, which another child or adult would be able to follow. As well as this, we would like you to log on to Spelling Shed to practise this week's spellings, read a book on Bug Club and complete the Reading Comprehension. As always, remember to read your favourite stories at home too!

Year 3 Maths

Year 3 will be learning about angles this week. Please follow the link to the White Rose Maths website below for the teaching videos, with the worksheets and answers below. Once you have completed the lessons, login into Mathletics to complete the assigned activities and don't forget to practise your times tables on TTRS too!

Remember, if you need any additional practise, please use the BBC Bitesize resources which align directly with this week's learning.

Year 4 Maths

Year 4 will revisit money this week. For lessons 1 and 2, follow the video links in the first document with the worksheets and answers below. For lessons 3 and 4, follow the White Rose Maths website link for the teaching videos. Once you have completed the lessons, login into Mathletics to complete the assigned activities and don't forget to practise your times tables on TTRS too!

Remember, if you need any additional practise, please use the BBC Bitesize resources which align with lessons 3 and 4.

History

The History learning this week continues with the Anglo-Saxons and you'll be finding out about about the Anglo-Saxons diet. We know that the Supermarkets weren't around during the Anglo-Saxon era which meant that they had to grow, catch, hunt and rear their own food. Find out more about what they grew on their land and which animals were kept for food through research. Using your research, you will create both a fact sheet and your very own Anglo-Saxon menu!

DT

From your History research, you'll learn that bread was very important to the Anglo-Saxons, what is was made of and in Great British Bake-Off style, bake your very own Anglo-Saxon bread! We hope it tastes as delicious as it sounds!
