WB 23.03.20 Week 1
Home Learning - Week Beginning 23.03.2020
Hello Adventurous Anacondas! Hopefully, you're well rested and ready for the new style of learning coming your way! Planned for this week are English, Maths, Science, DT and PE. Parents and carers, we hope you find the suggested timetable above useful but feel free to adapt the learning activities around your week. If you have any questions, please email us using the tier group email address that was sent out to parents last week. We look forward to hearing how you're getting on so do send in photographs of your learning. Work hard, stay safe and most importantly, have fun! Mr Khan, Miss Brooks and Miss Brown
Please read the document below which outlines your English learning for the week. It directly links to the Science that we have set as the topic work, as this week is Science Week! Activities have been assigned on Education City, Bug Club and Spelling Shed for you to complete. Also included below are extra resources to support you with your explanation text writing. We can't wait to read what you have written!
In Maths this week, Year 3 will begin learning about fractions whilst Year 4 will begin their unit on decimals. To support you with your learning, the White Rose Hub (the scheme we follow in school) have created some excellent resources. There are 5 lessons for your year-group to complete, each with a teaching video, activity sheet and answers. If you have a printer, feel free to print the worksheets and glue them into your Home Learning Book. If not, simply write the answers to the questions into your book. Below are the links to the learning resources. If you have any questions, email us and we'll be happy to help!
Once you have completed the 5 lessons, we have assigned Mathletics activities for the objectives covered this week for you to complete.
Topic - Science
Your Science topic learning this week is plants. Read the document below which outlines the activities for you to complete on Education City and in your Home Learning Book. If you're feeling creative, feel free to add your own activities to enhance your learning to the ones we've suggested.
Topic - DT (Cooking)
We thought it would be great if you learnt some life skills whilst having fun in the kitchen for your DT work this week! As your parents are at home working hard with you, why not cook a meal for them? Look at the step-by-step guide to preparing a nutritious meal in the document below - don't forget to ask an adult to help you with the cooking!
It's time to get a sweat on! Try out some of the websites below for activities to keep fit and active. Joe Wicks will be hosting PE sessions at 9am each morning through his YouTube channel (follow the link below). Or, if it is at all possible and safe, go out into your garden and get active!
