Week 5 - 1.2.21
Please tune into your daily phonics sessions each day at 9am.
If you would like any extra phonics lessons, please see the Read Write Inc Youtube page here. New videos are uploaded daily and will be available for 24 hours.
Below are some activities which will help you to practice your phonics skills. Please note that the CVC Word Activity Booklet is rather large, we do not expect our children to complete all of this, you may wish to just use a few pages from it.
Please find the video link below to each individual lesson, along with the activity which correlates to each one.
This week in our Literacy and Topic, we will be looking at the seasonal changes around us.
We will be reading the story of 'Jack Frost' by Kazuno Kohara. Here is an online version of the story.
If you would like to listen to any other stories, please visit our YouTube Channel here
Arts and Design
We know that lots of you are currently missing your family and friends very much, so why not make some 'mini me' versions of them? See below for details!
Bubbles also help to make us feel happy, even on the dullest days, so try out the bubble wand activity. See if you can make a bubble as big as yourself!
To link with our topic, there is a wax resist Jack Frost activity for you to try. Find a white crayon/wax tealight and draw a picture of Jack Frost, then water down some blue paint (or use blue food colouring and water) watch what happens when you brush over your picture!
Finally, we saw these ice caves and just knew that you would enjoy making them. Experiment with making icy homes for your small figures.
