Week beginning 22nd November 2021

Monday- KIRF Practice

Today you will be working on one of your KIRF targets for this half term which is:

To multiply and divide numbers by 10, 100 and 1,000 giving answers up to three decimal places.

For example:   40 divided by 10 is 4 because that is ten times smaller.

40 divided by 100 is is 0.4 because that is one hundred times smaller.

40 divided by 1000 is 0.04 because that is one thousand times smaller.

KIRFs means Key Instant Recall Facts and they are number facts that we need to practise regularly and know instantly so that we can be more successful and speedy mathematicians in our daily maths work. Please watch the videos to learn about multiplying and dividing numbers by 10, 100 and 1,000 and then complete your task sheet. If you need any more support with this skill as there are some quite tricky questions further down the sheet, please let Mrs Percival know via the tier group email and an extra Zoom session will be set up to help you later in the week.

Tuesday

Today please catch up on the KIRF work from Monday if not complete and then spend at least 20 minutes on Times Tables Rock Stars and 20 minutes on Mathletics (assigned activities and/or Mathletics Live) during the day using your personal login found in the front of your planner.

Wednesday- Add and subtract fractions (1)

Thursday- Add and subtract fractions activity

Today there is a video recapping adding and subtracting fractions using fraction strips of paper. There is no sheet today as you instead need to make your own fraction strips from paper to answer the questions on the video when instructed to.

Friday - Add and subtract fractions (2)
