Week beginning 8th November 2021

Monday

Today we will be working on two of our new KIRF targets for this half term which are:

  • Know square numbers to 144 (e.g. numbers multiplied by themself so 1x1 = 1, 2x2 = 4, 3x3 = 9, 4x4 = 16, 5x5 = 25 etc. The square numbers are 1, 4, 9, 16, 25 and so on).
  • Know factor pairs of a number (e.g. the factor pairs of 8 are 1x8 and 2x4 because these are the only pairs that multiply to make the number so the factors of 8 are 1, 2, 4 and 8).

KIRFs means Key Instant Recall Facts and they are number facts that we need to practise regularly and know instantly so that we can be more successful and speedy mathematicians in our daily maths work. Please watch the videos to learn about square numbers and factors then complete your task sheets. (If you were isolating last Monday you will have done this lesson already so please use Mathletics and TTRS instead. If not, please complete this lesson today).

Tuesday- Read and interpret line graphs

Wednesday - Draw line graphs

Thursday - Use line graphs to solve problems

Friday- Read and interpret tables
